I bought this costume solely so I could take lots of pictures like this. Nathaniel thinks wearing the costume is okay, but does not like when I wear it at all. I think he doesn't like the horns on mommy.
On the way to the playgroup the other day we took Nathaniel for a romp through the leaves. He loved when Grandma picked up handfuls of leaves and threw them over his head.
Grandma came to visit us for two weeks and Nathaniel had a blast. She came with us to all of our classes and coffees. She came to the park and the playhouse and most importantly babysat while Doug and I went out. Nathaniel really enjoyed spending time with her.
Nathaniel went to his friend Emma's birthday party last weekend. They had set up a ball pit in a blow up Barbie car, and Nathaniel thought that was the coolest thing ever.
Nathaniel has been flirting with walking forever, but it seemed as if he had found the perfect mode of transportation with cruising-it had many of the benefits of walking, but without some of the danger. But about two and half weeks ago, we were at Crechendo and Nathaniel decided to walk across the entire room without grabbing on to anything. And he's been walking ever since. He walks across the living room, toward the open door of the coffee house, toward any and all stairs .. pretty much anywhere. Now he just toddles off wherever he wants, which I think makes him pretty happy.
Nathaniel has been having a very roller coaster affair with the swing these days. In this picture he's clearly having the time of his life. Since then though he has been weirded out by the swings, getting very stressed out whenever we have put him in one and asking to get down.
Nathaniel is having his first taste of birthday cake. He has now begun his lifelong love affair with sugar.
So we had a birthday cookout for Nathaniel a few weeks ago that was a great time. We had about seven babies and their parents over, along with a couple friends without kids who hid in the back garden with the booze till the chaos died down. The kids all played well together, and more importantly all of us had a good time together. This is Nat's cake before we cut into, but after I had lost the candles for it. I ended up putting lit matches on his cake.
Nathaniel is really into peekaboo and pop-up books. Here he shows off his enthusiasm for reading.
