If you must watch children's TV, there are a lot worse shows than Thomas, which teaches discipline and goal setting, along with the importance of reliability and usefulness, and unquestioning obedience to the Fat Controller (or Sir Topham Hat, as they say in the bowlderized version that plays in the States).
