How I Love Thee Ball

Ball

We actually had to replace it already, when Doug and I popped his other ball batting it around the living room (our first lesson in why you don't play around with the kid's toys). He was elated when ball made its reappearance and even happier that the weather was warm enough to go and play with it in the garden.
Among Nathaniel's other favorite toys and objects right now-a maraca, a large empty coke bottle, his stuffed puma from the zoo, the recycling can, the string to the light in the bathroom, the blocks with spinners on them, and his peek-a-boo book. He is still steadfastedly refusing to play on his stomach, and is actually attempting to learn how to move while on his back. He sort of contorts his body, half rolls, and swings his legs around till he can get to the toy he wants. But what he does want to do all the time is stand up. Now when he is sitting down he starts whimpering and throwing his arms up to me and give me this pleading look. Then he pulls himself up on my hands and makes these very pleased chortling and raspberry noises.
